Pam was a beloved administrative assistant in the SMC Dance and ESL Departments. As a native of Westwood, attendee of Le Lycee Francais, and graduate of UCLA, Pam’s global background was a perfect fit for her role at the college.
Pam also served as mediator in the LA City Attorney’s Resolution Program, FINRA arbitrator and hospice volunteer for veterans. She often spoke about the importance of treading softly on this earth and of the necessity to create light rather than heat when engaging in a disagreement. She was always patient and kind to students, and she took great pleasure in giving the information needed whenever anyone stopped at her window or called in with a question. She treated everyone with kindness and respect and was a true giver.
Pam is survived by her loving daughter, Danelle Rose, and her siblings Valerie, Stephanie and Stephen.
The Pamela Nemeth Memorial Scholarship has been established by the family and friends of Pamela Nemeth to honor her memory. The scholarship in her name will be awarded to an SMC student who meets the following criteria:
